The Qur’an was accurate to call him the “Greatest Deceiver“,because he was able to deceive one third of the heavenly angels into joining him in his rebellion against The TRUE God. But they were cast out of heaven.

So now, they spend their time trying to pull mankind away from worshiping the creator and are instead, trying to direct mankind to worship devils instead.
