Stop Foreign Aid & Sport with Pakistan
Truthophobes Objective 4

ACTION TASKS 1

Speak up against Pakistan, a nation that kills and abuses women and children, a nation that persecutes minority groups.

Australia must stop giving borrowed money as foreign aid to Pakistan. Pakistan spends $8 Billion dollars on its military and can afford to look after its own people.

Australian sporting teams stopped playing sport against South Africa because of apartheid. Australian sporting teams must stop playing sport against Pakistan because of its crimes against humanity to women, children and minority groups

Use the following My Will letters and letters to sporting organisations and be a voice for those women killed by honour killings, women and children wo are abused and minority groups such as Christians who are persecuted because of their faith.

Dear Prime Minister, Senator, Federal / State Member of Parliament

I know that it is my duty to keep you informed of MY WILL on anything that comes before parliament, or that should come before parliament.

It is my will that Australia cut all foreign aid to Pakistan (as the US has already done) and cancel all sports involvement with Pakistan.

Australia prides itself in championing the victims of abuse and injustice. We consider human rights and equality to be of utmost importance.

Australia gives Pakistan $47 million in foreign aid per year, despite Pakistan increasing its defence spending by $578 million to $8.78 billion!

We also happily play cricket and other sports with Pakistan. In the 1980s, Australia isolated South Africa with economic sanctions and imposed a sports boycott because of the apartheid, which segregated dark-skinned people from those of European descent, resulting in political and economic discriminations against non-whites.

In 2018, in Pakistan, women and minority groups endure dangerous and life-threatening discrimination.
Members of minority religions suffer hanging, stoning, acid attacks, the torching of their houses and cars, deprivation of employment and refusal of medical care as a result of minor infringements of Sharia Law or simply following a faith other than Islam.

Members of other faiths are so hated they are forbidden to drink from the same water source.
A current example is a Christian lady, Aisa Bibi, who drank from “the wrong water source” who is currently in hiding after 8 years in prison, while tens of thousands are screaming for her death.

Women and children in Pakistan are being abused or killed as the world turns a blind eye. Australia must not ignore such human rights abuse and show leadership as:
- Many young girls in Pakistan, undergo legally sanctioned female genital mutilation, setting them up for a lifetime of gynecological obstetric issues.

- Child marriage and forced marriage legally abounds, ruin the lives of thousands of young girls.

- Honour killings, though illegal, are corruptly unpunished and women and girls are not adequately protected by their laws.

- People who owe debt and their families (including children) are forced to work under horrific slave-like conditions at the brick-making factories and kilns.

It is my will that Australia should take immediate action by cutting all foreign aid to Pakistan and cancel all sports involvement with Pakistan as an expression of our severe disapproval until these human rights infringements are addressed. We should also give immediate refuge to Aisa Bibi and her family as they are extremely high priority refugees.

Yours Sincerely,
(signed with your full name, address and date, as legal evidence that you are a constituent)

HAVE YOUR SAY TO

CRICKET AUSTRALIA

Australian Cricket has a precedent for using cricket as a political weapon. South Africa was boycotted because of apartheid. Pakistan must be boycotted because of its human rights abuse to women and children.

To Cricket Australia

Australia prides itself in championing the victims of abuse and injustice. We consider human rights and equality to be of utmost importance.

In the past Australian Cricket has taken a political stand against such human rights abuse and lack of equality. In 1971 Sir Donald Bradman cancelled the planned test series against South Africa because of apartheid, which segregated dark-skinned people from those of European descent, resulting in political, economic and social discriminations against non-whites.

Does Cricket Australia stand against the abuse of women and children?
If it does why are we playing cricket against Pakistan a country where women and children endure dangerous and life-threatening discrimination?

• People who
• Honour killings, though illegal, are corruptly unpunished and women and girls are not adequately protected by their laws.
• Child marriage and forced marriage legally abounds, ruins the lives of thousands of young girls.
• genital mutilation, setting them up for a lifetime of gynecological obstetric issues.

Women and children in Pakistan are being abused or killed:debt and their families (including children) are forced to work under horrific slave-like conditions at the brick-making factories and kilns.

• Further under Sharia women are not equal to a man.

In 1971 Australian Cricket took a political stand against racism. In 2018-19 Cricket Australia must take a stand against the abuse and injustice to women and children in Pakistan by withdrawing from future matches or tours against Pakistan. Cricket Australia must stand up and make a leading statement to the world that the abuse of women and children by any culture or religion will not be tolerated.

Yours Sincerely,
